Hi teams
another idea for your paddlling outfits might be to link in to the birthday party theme we have this year!
We are getting a great range of organisations and groups expressing interest in entering the Challenge at this stage.
Thank you, this is just fantastic!

Welcome to Dragons Abreast ACT Corporate Challenge Regatta!

Regatta Date: 25 October 2008
Venue: Lotus Bay, Yarralumla (near the Southern Cross Yacht Club)
Many of you have participated in this regatta in the past, and will know that the regatta has been taking place every year since 2002. This year will be bigger and better than ever!
We would like to encourage all participants to take part in this blog, and get the friendly rivalries going between the teams, and perhaps exchange ideas on training, your team uniform for the day - we've had some good ones over the years, including a band of pirates, and in 2006 one group turned out fully geared-up in hospital theatre rig, complete with stethoscopes and facemasks!
Team names have brought fun and laughter to the event with their names (like Bum Steers for the Endoscopy Unit at Calvary Hospital) so have a think about this and come up with a short snappy identifiable team name to make it easier for the race caller on the day (and it fits better in our spreadsheet!)
In the past banks, architectural companies, real estate agents and other corporate groups have displayed their friendly competitiveness both in advance of the regatta, and most especially on the day. The first year we held the regatta a group of Canberra Grammar School teachers and parents, who were tired of driving their dragonboating students to the lake's edge and then standing around waiting while the kids were having fun and they weren't, decided to give it a go and entered a team. To their surprise and delight they won, and went on to form their own dragon boat club, the Dragon Flyers.
